Potty Mouth

Today I got a frantic email from Matt saying that Ally could not go to school tomorrow, she got suspended! I called home to get the dets and he told me that my little girl got suspended for calling someone an a-hole. Can you believe it? I was so shocked. And then he told me that we had to have a conference with her teachers before she could go back to school. I was so shocked and embarrassed, going over in my mind where she could have learned that from, when Matt started to giggle. It was all a lie! What an a-hole.

Julia Roberts

I read this week that Julia Roberts got paid a handsome 3 Million dollars for her all-of-six-minutes appearance in Valentine's Day. Must be nice.

I've also seen her popping up on my TV lately asking me to donate money to Haiti. Hey, Julia, that 3 million could go a lot further than the 10 bucks I can afford to donate. I'm just sayin'.

Snow Day

This morning, my usually sunlight-averse daughter was in an exceptionally good mood. I had to promise "make-up" to get her to go downstairs, but otherwise she let me get her dressed and *gasp* even do her hair for school this morning without any fits or protests for Dad. We opened the door to see a light snowfall and she got excited to go outside and make footprints. I didn't even rush her to get in the car, I just enjoyed watching her smile as she trekked through the snow. As we did approach her school, I noticed that, even though I was a little late, there were unusually few cars on the street...and no tire tracks in the driveway...and no little backpacks hung up in their room...oh, no. It's a Snow Day. Back home to play with Dad. All that effort and she could have slept in.
